Established in 1996, covering 52% of western NSW, CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes Limited provides programs and services to enhance social, economic, and emotional wellbeing and to strengthen networks of support in our rural and remote communities.

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic individual to facilitate activities and educational programs for parents and children. You will need an understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous families, with strong demonstrated connections to the local Wilcannia Community and a thorough understanding of local service provider networks is essential.

Good organisational and administrative skills is required for this position as well as a current valid driver’s licence.

The position is full time, based in Wilcannia and offers a maximum term contract until 27 June 2025. If further funding is made available, an additional contract may be offered to the incumbent.

Specifically: • Family Worker (Learning Difficulty/Disability) • Family Worker (Children and Family) Reporting to the General Manager, these are case management positions provides also providing advice, advocacy, referral and support to vulnerable members of the community.

Both positions are Permanent Full Time at 35 hours per week. Salary for these roles are classified at level 4 in the NSW SCHADS Award (pay point to be determined depending on experience). The roles are based in Blacktown but some local travel is required, therefore you will need a current driver’s license and your own car.

What you’ll need to succeed…
The successful applicant will have expert knowledge and understanding of the dynamics, complexities and consequences of DFV, child protection. disability and learning difficulties, mental health, AOD, and have knowledge and understanding of the needs and rights of diverse people and families. You will also have excellent organisational, administrative and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
