About the role

In an exciting phase of growth, this position will see you leading a team of 10 counsellors to support adolescents and their families in a variety of locations across NSW. You will work to consolidate the existing suite of adolescent services to rebrand and expand on these offerings to reach new locations such as Headspace centres, schools and other RANSW centres.

Your exceptional leadership and clinical supervisory skills will see you succeed in this role and ensure that our clients receive responsive, effective and judgment-free services that are informed by evidence, with a focus on outcomes.

The annual base salary range for this full time permanent position is between $88,691 to $97,289. The salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate being dependent on their level of experience, training and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, there is the employers contribution (9.5%) to superannuation, leave loading (17.5%) and we offer salary packaging

We're interested in hearing from people who possess a combination of:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience in a leadership role at either a Community Services or - Customer Service oriented organisation
- Five years' experience full time as a child and family counsellor, couple or family therapist or 2500 hours of supervised clinical practice in counselling
- Demonstrated skills, experience and training as a clinical supervisor, giving and receiving live supervision
- Substantial knowledge of the delivery of services to adolescents and their families and the service landscape

About the role

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Counsellor to join the Wattle Place team. This role will see you providing quality trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic casework services for psychological wellbeing for people who have experienced complex childhood trauma. This counselling is specialised in providing person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach counselling services to Forgotten Australians, Former Child Migrants and people accessing the National Redress Scheme.

The annual base salary range for this part-time maximum term contract position is $43,401 - $48,358 (3 days a week). The salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate being dependent on their level of experience, training and qualifications. About the team

You will be working within an agile team collaborating closely with the Manager of Wattle Place and the Team Leader

- Formal graduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant disciplines
- Minimum 3 years post graduate experience in providing psychological support for people who have experienced trauma
- Ability to provide quality counselling and casework interventions that are person centred and individually tailored
- Highly developed therapeutic skill base for assessment, engagement, case planning and working with people who have experienced loss, abuse and trauma
- Understanding of trauma informed care principles and the long-term impact of the ‘care' experience for the person and the issues/ barriers faced in adulthood.

About the Opportunity

We are a seeking suitably qualified and experienced Team Leader - Redress Support Service and Forced Adoption Support Service to join our Wattle Place centre, based in Harris Park.

Wattle Place provides support services specifically for, Forgotten Australians, anyone who experienced institutional or other out-of-home care as children, people of the Stolen Generations, Former Child Migrants who were placed in institutional or other out-of-home care and people seeking support with understanding the National Redress Scheme.

This role provides supervision and leadership to the Wattle Place team to ensure the provision of quality services to clients. You will work closely with stakeholders including a local network of service providers and a client consultative group to promote and build relationships in the wider community.

As the successful candidate you will possess;

- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in the human services area (eg social work, psychology), or other relevant qualifications
- Awareness and knowledge of legislation, standards, policies and guidelines relating to people impacted by Forced Adoptions
- Qualification or demonstrated competencies in supervision, couple or family therapy, counselling, group work, psychotherapy, case management
- Five years' experience full time or 2500 hours of supervised clinical practice of therapeutic casework models of practice and counselling designed to meet the needs of vulnerable and complex clients
- Ability to provide quality casework to develop individual tailored case plans and coordinate a mix of services to suit client need
- Demonstrated skills, experience and training as a clinical supervisor, giving and receiving live group work supervision
- Demonstrated competence and understanding of working within a trauma informed framework

The annual base salary for this 4 day a week position is between $70,953 to $77,831 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. This will be negotiated with the successful candidates being dependent on their level of experience, training and qualifications.

Blacktown Women’s and Girls Health Centre (BWGHC), is a feminist, non for profit charity meeting the needs of excellent health and wellbeing initiatives for women and girls and envisages a community in which women exercise equal rights, choose their own destiny and have a safe environment for themselves and their children. BWGHC work towards this by providing counselling, information and referral, advocacy, capacity building and support services to clients.

The aim of the North West Sydney Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (NWSWDVCAS) program is to provide women experiencing domestic and family violence with threat assessment and safety planning, case coordination, information and Court Advocacy for clients in obtaining legal protection through an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order and provide liaison and secretariat support for Safety Action Meetings (SAMs). NWSWDVCAS also works in cooperation with other services and reporting requirements to Legal Aid NSW and BWGHC.

The Manager role is responsible for the overall operation of the program including budgeting, reporting, community engagement, focus groups and staffing (including seconded staff). This role oversees a team of 15 working in the program from Windsor and attending the Blacktown and Mt Druitt Courts.

The role is Full Time at 35 hours per week, contracted to 30 June 2024. Salary for this role is classified at level 8 in the NSW SCHADS Award (Pay Point to be determined based on experience). The role is based in South Windsor and some travel in the Western Sydney area will be necessary.

The successful applicant will be a passionate woman with sound experience in staff management as well as strong communication and networking skills and a solid background in working with women and children experiencing domestic violence.
