Under the direction of the Team Leader the Carer Compliance & Support Officer has primary responsibility for maintaining accurate records, ensuring carer probity checks are undertaken, and carer recruitment, training and support.

The successful applicant must have:

Good written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent Computer skills and experience working with data bases and the Microsoft Office programs.
Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Ability to work in a team, follow direction, and is motivated to take on challenges with minimal direction.
Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality.
Experience working within Aboriginal communities and an understanding of Aboriginal culture.
A current driver’s licence.
Desirable:

Certificate 4 in Community Services.
Previous experience working in Aboriginal welfare and child protection areas.
Knowledge of the Child and Young Persons Care and Protection Act NSW (1998) and its amendments.
Willingness to undertake formal training as required within a reasonable period from commencement of duties.
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

St George Community Transport (STGCT) is a government funded, not-for-profit organisation that has provided safe and reliable transport, social support, one on one support, assistance at home and access to the community for people 65 years and over, people with disability, their carers, and private customers since 1987.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Supervision, mentoring and development of the Finance Team and Transport Coordinator.
• End to end responsibility for financial reporting, including monthly financial reporting, preparation of annual financial accounts for external audit and commentary on performance.
• All financial reporting to funding bodies and statutory reporting.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and petty cash management.
• Preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Participation and attendance at management team meetings and Board meetings as required.

The right applicant will have:
• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
• Certification with a recognised professional accounting organisation.
• Experience working in the not-for-profit sector.

You will offer intake and assessment, case work, referrals and support, mentoring and parenting education to families with children aged 0–18 years, capacity building programs and individual and family counselling. This position also requires you to organise and run peer support groups and to work with our Supported Playgroup team for 2 hours each week.

If you are passionate about working with vulnerable communities to make a difference, this role has lots of variety and enables you to be creative and to work in partnership with local organisations, schools and with local networks and interagency groups.
