Upcoming NDIS Workshop which will be run in Mandarin. It will be a presentation covering the following topics:
• An introduction to the NDIS
• NDIS eligibility criteria
• How to request access and what information to provide
• Examples of supports and services funded by the NDIS
• Where to go for more information
Catering will be provided for lunch and it will be held at Epping Leisure & Learning Centre, 1 Chambers Court, Epping, 2121 and is open to anyone from Northern and Western Sydney to attend.

Skillness Group is a strengths-based model which aims to assist people to access and approach work, study and personal endeavours with a greater sense of empowerment and self-determination. We do this by guiding the individuals to build a better sense of self and a stronger appreciation for how he/she can meaningfully relate to and engage with work & study. We also focus heavily on goal setting, planning and external engagement - providing tools, capabilities and strategies that the individual can implement in order to tangibly reach their medium and long-term goals.

Shifting the Dial on Employment (Department of Social Services and National Disability Insurance Agency)

The Department of Social Services is hosting a round-table employment discussion next Thursday morning at Rydges Hotel World Square for participants and their families to attend. Exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced clinician to join the Hunter Centre (Broadmeadow) as Team Leader – Children’s Contact Service (CCS). Our Children’s Contact Service provides support for children and parents who have separated to build and maintain secure relationships through supervised contact visits. It also offers a place for the safe transfer of children between separated parents and/or carers.
The Team Leader - CCS is a key member of the senior team in the region. The primary function of the role is to provide supervision, training and leadership to the CCS team in the program as well as providing direct service where required.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the role of a supervisor in a clinical environment focusing on children and families, well aware of all issues relating to child protection, well developed clinical supervisory skills, as well as flexibility, initiative, coordination and organisational skills. Some of your responsibilities will be as follows:
• To ensure quality services through support, supervision and leadership facilitating team functioning and performance;
• Program and cross Centre responsibilities as part of the local leadership group, managing the organisational interface with clients and external customers;
• Provide effective case consultation and clinical supervision including critical incident de-briefs;
• Maintain client case load as per Centre requirements;
• Provide triage of complex case when escalated;
• Prepare reports and analysis as required;
• Work closely with the Centre manager to develop and improve staff practice;
• Ensure the CCS program in Hunter Centre remains relevant and well connected, with other services within and outside the organisation;
• Ensure safe work practices, monitor and report on all associated risks.
About the successful candidate
This is a part time position working 4 days per week, some weekend work is a requirement for this role. The successful candidate will have the following:
• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in the human services area (eg social work, psychology), or other relevant qualifications;
• Qualification or demonstrated competencies in supervision, couple or family therapy, counselling, group work, psychotherapy, case management;
• Five years’ experience full time working with families and children as counsellor, couple and family therapist, professional worker or 2500 hours of supervised clinical practice.
• Demonstrated skills, experience and training as a clinical supervisor, giving and receiving live group work supervision;
• Demonstrated competence and understanding of working within a trauma informed framework;
• Demonstrated competency in use of technology (including Microsoft office programs);
• Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service to internal/external customers;
• Excellent communication skills- written and verbal;
• Current valid Driver’s Licence.
