Carer Gateway is the new support service for carers of all ages who look after someone with a disability, mental illness, alcohol and other drug dependency, ongoing illness, or are frail due to age.
It’s free to access and offers supports such as counselling, peer support groups, emergency respite, carer directed support packages and education and skills building. Carers NSW is the provider of the Carer Gateway across the Hunter, New England, Central Coast and North Coast Primary Health Networks.
I’ve attached a factsheet that you can share with carers, your team and through your networks. The Carer Gateway can be accessed via 1800 422 737 or www.carergateway.gov.au
Please direct carers to the Gateway, but if service providers have any questions or would like to learn more about the supports available you can contact me at [email protected]
